Responding to the stress that builds up as a result of responding to challenging behaviour can be challenging in and of itself. Securicare offer McGee’s 5-step model for de-stressing. McGee* (2001) offers practical guidance to overcome this stress guilt in the form of an acronym: GUILT. He says:
